2011 MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing comes with an aluminium spaceframe body with gullwing doors, AMG 6.3-litre V8 front-mid engine developing 420 kW/ 571 hp peak output, 650 Nm of torque and dry sump lubrication, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in a transaxle configuration, sports suspension with aluminium double wishbones and a kerb weight of 1620 kilograms based on the DINstandard.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 317 km/h (electronically limited). The fuel consumption of 13.2 litres per 100 kilometres (combined) puts it at the front of the competitive field (all figures provisional).

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing also comes with weight-optimised AMG light-alloy wheels – 9.5 x 19 inch (front) and 11.0 x 20 inch (rear). In addition to the standard-fit AMG 7-spoke light-alloy wheels, 5-twin-spoke wheels and 10-spoke forged wheels are available as an option. 265/35 R 19 (front) and 295/30 R 20 (rear) tyres developed exclusively for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG ensure optimum performance.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing is scheduled to be launched in spring 2010. The sales price is EUR 177,310 (incl. 19% VAT).

Hyundai i40 Sedan in India

The new Hyundai i40 Sedan was unveiled recently at the 2011 Barcelona Motor Show in Spain. Hyundai i40 features the new Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture, making it aerodynamically superior.

Hyundai i40 has the latest technology developed under a blue Hyundai Eco Drive – and stop rolling resistance integrated & Go (ISG), low and the system generator ( AMS).

Hyundai i40 will be available in both petrol and diesel engine variants and all the variants are Euro V complaint. Hyundai i40 comes with two petrol engines, a 1.6 liter engine which produces 135 Bhp unit and a bigger 2.0 direct injection petrol engine which produces 177 Bhp and 208 Nm.

Hyundai i40 comes diesel engines is powered by 1.7 liter engine. Both the petrol and diesel engines will feature 6 speed manual and automatic transmission options. The diesel engine also gets a stop start system, low resistance tyres and an alternate management system to save fuel.
